There is nothing, repeat nothing, romantic going on here. We could've (should've?) called this speed networking, but we nicked the basic principal from speed dating – you take a seat in one of two rows (one for directors, one for designers) and have a quick chat with the person opposite you. Every time the bell dings, the seating configuration changes and you get a new person to talk to. It's basically an extended ice-breaker, and then at the end of the evening there'll be a chance to pick up where you left off and have longer chats with everyone.

The relationship between director and designer is so important, and in one short evening you'll have met a load of people from the opposite discipline. With a bit of luck some of them might turn out to be future collaborators.
